Aquamarine is thought to enhance the happiness of marriages. Aquamarine is the light green-blue variety of the mineral beryl. It's most valuable colour is a vibrant medium blue to slightly greenish blue. 

Fine aquamarines are a marriage between colour and clarity. The best are dark blue to slightly greenish blue with no visible inclusions. Careful cutting maximises both qualities to produce superb gems.

Aquamarine has a Mohs hardness of 7.5-8 and is March's birthstone.
