Matthews Diamond Collections

The Matthews Signature Collection is our hand-selected range of non-certified diamonds. This is often the first port of call in your diamond journey, delivering you a larger diamond whilst balancing the qualities of cut, colour and clarity with your individual budget preference. The Matthews Family hand select each and every diamond in this range. We have over 100 years of combined diamond experience and 60+ year relationships with the leading local and international diamond merchants. Our experience and industry relationships mean you can be confident that we can secure you the best diamonds for any taste and budget.
The Matthews Certified Collection represents the next step in diamond quality. Our certified collection strikes the balance of diamond size with higher cut, colour and clarity grading. Diamonds in this range are brighter, have more sparkle and better performance than similar sized diamonds in the signature collection. We only offer certified diamonds that are certified by reputable, not for profit bodies such as the Gemological Institute of America or the American Gem Society, organisations that have a charter to ensure public trust when purchasing diamonds. To provide further peace of mind, each certified diamond is laser inscribed with its own unique certified code. For those seeking a truly magnificent diamond the Matthews Certified Collection should be your first consideration.

Lab Created Diamonds

Laboratory-created diamonds represent the latest in diamond technology and is fast becoming the most popular choice when selecting a diamond. Matthews Jewellers offers clients Lab Created Diamonds in most of our jewellery designs. Clients can obtain a bigger, brighter and more brilliant diamond at a lower investment.
A lab created diamond is grown from a sliver of diamond in lab-conditions that mimic the geological processes that create natural diamonds. The result is a lab created diamond that has essentially the same chemical, optical, and physical properties of a diamond found in nature. They are just as hard, are graded with the same range of colours and qualities as mined diamonds and shine and sparkle in the same way. Just like natural diamonds, lab created diamonds can be cut to the highest of standards and, therefore, can possess excellent fire, brightness and scintillation. As with our natural diamond range, we meticulously choose each lab created diamond to ensure excellent quality and characteristics for all tastes and budgets.

Pink Diamonds

At Matthews Jewellers we have a major focus on Australian made products, with most of our pink diamond jewellery sourced from the Argyle Diamond Mine. We are privileged to have access to the latest Argyle Mine Pink Diamonds. We have an established collection of Australian Pink Kimberley Jewellery, featuring the coveted deep pink colour, and Blush Pink’s fancy light pink diamonds which have been carefully designed into everyday wearable jewellery. The light pink range is luxurious and unique without breaking the budget and we believe these incredible diamonds should be available to all.
Pink diamonds belong to a subcategory of diamonds called fancy colour diamonds, the generic name for all diamonds that exhibit any sort of colour. Pink diamonds range from flawless to included, just as do white diamonds, with pink diamond’s most important grading factor being the intensity of the pink colour. The more intense, the more valuable.
To date, 80% of the world's pink diamonds now originate from the Argyle mine in Kimberley, Western Australia. Out of the mine's 20 million carat annual output, only 0.1% are classified as pink diamonds. After the diamonds are polished, the total carats of pink diamonds become smaller still. This makes pink diamonds not only rare but also difficult to obtain.
