Founded in 1957 by Norman Matthews in Scone, New South Wales, Matthews Jewellers has grown from humble beginnings into a trusted name in fine jewellery across Australia. Norman’s dedication to craftsmanship and quality laid the foundation for what would become a multi-generational family business. In 1978, his son, Stephen Matthews, opened the second store, continuing the family legacy of excellence in jewellery design and customer care.
Today, Matthews Jewellers is proudly operated by Stephen’s sons, Sam and Adam Matthews, who have carried the family tradition into the modern era while maintaining the values that have guided the business for over 60 years. From one bench in Sconeto three Hunter boutiques
In 1957, Norman Matthews launched his first jewellery store in Scone, New South Wales. A few decades later his son, Stephen Matthews, opened the second Matthews Jewellers store in 1978. Over the years the family continued to expand throughout the Hunter region, and most recently Stephen's sons Sam and Adam have joined the business, taking it from strength to strength.
With over 60 years operating in the Hunter, Matthews Jewellers remains a local, family-run business renowned for delivering exquisite fine jewellery — with direct access to local and international diamond cutters, leading diamond merchants and jewellery manufacturers.
