Founded in 1957 by Norman Matthews in Scone, New South Wales, Matthews Jewellers has grown from humble beginnings into a trusted name in fine jewellery across Australia. Norman’s dedication to craftsmanship and quality laid the foundation for what would become a multi-generational family business. In 1978, his son, Stephen Matthews, opened the second store, continuing the family legacy of excellence in jewellery design and customer care.
Today, Matthews Jewellers is proudly operated by Stephen’s sons, Sam and Adam Matthews, who have carried the family tradition into the modern era while maintaining the values that have guided the business for over 60 years. Known for timeless designs and exceptional craftsmanship, every piece at Matthews Jewellers is created with meticulous attention to detail, ensuring each customer’s vision is brought to life.
Today
Sam and Adam Matthews continue the family tradition, working directly from our Kotara and Darby Street stores. You’ll often see them in store, during virtual consultations or sharing their knowledge and expertise online.
With a genuine passion for the jewellery industry and creating quality pieces, Sam and Adam are supported by an experienced team of gemmologists, valuers, diamond graders and jewellery specialists, bringing together generations of knowledge with expertise you can trust.
