Remodelled Jewellery: A Wedding Day Heirloom Reimagined

Before her wedding day, Lauren was gifted a very special ring: an aquamarine that had been given to her mother at just 16 years old, to represent her something blue for her wedding. This precious ring held not only beautiful stones but also a deep family story.

Lauren's grandparents gifted her mum the aquamarine for her 16th Birthday, and on her 21st birthday, her husband set it into a three-stone bezel setting. The design symbolised their past, present, and future together—a timeless tribute to family bonds. Now, this meaningful piece was being passed on to the next generation to wear on a very special day.

With her parents’ blessing, Lauren chose to remodel the ring into a more modern design that would allow the soft blue hue of the aquamarine to truly shine. She also added two additional stones to represent each member of her own family, creating a unique symbol of love, legacy, and connection.

This remodel transformed a treasured heirloom into a fresh, wearable piece that continues to tell a beautiful story — bridging generations while embracing personal style. Every time she wears it, she carries not only the elegance of the aquamarine but also the memories and love of her family close to her heart.

At Matthews Jewellers, we feel honoured to be part of these emotional journeys, helping families preserve the past while creating something new and meaningful for the future.
