Product Details

The Ismae Pear Diamond Engagement Ring pairs a pear cut centre diamond with a flowing, wave-shaped band. The band sweeps upwards on either side of the low-set claw setting, complementing the diamond’s soft curves and distinctive tapered point. This sculptural design brings a sense of movement to the traditional pear solitaire.

Made to order in 18k gold or platinum, the Ismae can be customised to suit your preferred diamond, precious metal and individual style.

Making Time

We make this piece for you in 8 weeks, or 4 weeks with our priority service ($500). Making time doesn't include delivery, and it can be longer in the lead-up to Christmas (see our Christmas order dates).

We begin once your 50% deposit is paid. The balance is due when your piece is finished, before we dispatch it.

Shipping & Returns

Shipping

Once your piece is finished, we send it free by fully insured Australia Post Express Post, Australia-wide.
A signature is needed on delivery. We also ship to selected countries: see International Shipping.

Returns

Because this piece is made especially for you, we can't offer change of mind refunds or exchanges.
If you cancel your order, the 50% deposit is non-refundable. Anything paid above the deposit is refunded.

Frequently asked questions

How does Made to Order work?

Once you order, our team will be in touch to confirm every detail of your piece and we hand-select any diamonds for it. If you’d like to change the design, we’ll create a CAD for you to approve before we begin. Our jewellers then make your piece, and once it has passed our final checks we send it to you, fully insured, with tracking.

How long does it take?

The making time for your piece is shown beside Add to Cart, and doesn’t include delivery. Our priority service ($500) shortens it to 2 or 4 weeks, depending on the piece. Need it by a set date? Tell us when you order and we’ll confirm what’s possible. For Christmas, see our Christmas order dates.

What do I pay today?

You can pay in full, or choose our 50% deposit option. The deposit is half of everything in your order, including any priority service, and is paid by card (Afterpay and Zip aren’t available for deposits). We’ll email you when your piece is finished, and the balance is due within 14 days of that email, before we send it. The deposit is non-refundable if you cancel.

Do you offer a warranty?

Yes. Pieces of $2,000 or more include our Lifetime Care Guarantee because we believe your jewellery should be treasured and enjoyed for a lifetime.

Our commitment is designed to help you care for your piece for years to come, with ongoing services and support from our experienced team.

To maintain your Lifetime Care Guarantee, your ring needs to be inspected by our team every 12 months. It is the owner’s responsibility to ensure the ring is returned to Matthews Jewellers for these inspections, allowing our jewellers to check the settings, stones and overall condition of your piece.

Do you offer custom design?

Absolutely. Custom design is at the heart of what we do. Our experienced design team will work closely with you to create a piece that is completely unique to you, guiding you through every step from your initial idea or inspiration through to the final design.

I don’t know my ring size. What should I do?

That’s completely fine. Simply select “I’m not sure” when placing your order and a member of our team will be in touch to help.

We can provide a complimentary ring sizing kit to help determine the correct size, or, if the ring is a surprise, we have a few discreet ways to help you work out your partner’s ring size without giving the secret away.

If you’re still unsure, our team will guide you through the best option before your ring is made.

Can my ring be resized?

Yes. Most rings can be resized; however, every design has a safe resizing limit. Resizing beyond this limit can compromise the structure, setting or integrity of your ring, so we recommend choosing your initial ring size as accurately as possible.

For rings of $2,000 or more, our Lifetime Care Guarantee includes complimentary resizing for the life of your ring, within its safe resizing limits.

If your ring needs to be adjusted beyond what can safely be resized, it may need to be remade to ensure the quality and integrity of the piece. In this instance, additional charges will apply. Our team will always discuss your options with you before any work is carried out.

Is the diamond certified?

Yes. Our whole diamond range is independently certified, and centre diamonds have a grading report from IGI, GIA, HRD, WISE or GSL. The report number is in the Product Details. IGI, HRD, WISE and GSL reports come as a printed certificate with your ring; GIA issues printed reports for natural diamonds and digital reports for lab grown diamonds.

How will my piece be shipped?

Your piece will be carefully packaged and sent via Australia Post Express Shipping, with tracking, signature on delivery and insurance for added peace of mind.

Your jewellery is fully insured and protected throughout its journey until it safely reaches you. Once your order has been dispatched, you’ll receive your tracking details so you can follow its delivery.

Can I return my piece?

As each made-to-order piece is created especially for you, we are unable to accept returns or exchanges for change of mind.
